Egenis researchers respond to data consultation

Egenis researchers have responded to the Nuffield Council on Bioethics consultation on the linking and use of biological and health data.

The consultation addressed questions including privacy issues, the impact of developments in data science and information technology, and the implications of using biomedical data outside biomedical research and healthcare.

The Egenis response, written by Dr Sabina Leonelli and Dr Nadine Levin, was grounded in the considerable expertise on the dissemination of biological and biomedical data that is present within the centre.

According to the Nuffield Council, “The responses received will help inform the deliberations of the Working Party on biological and health data, whose aim is to publish a report with recommendations in winter 2014.”
