Syllabus Plan

Whilst the module’s precise content may vary from year to year, it is envisaged that the syllabus will cover some or all of the following topics:

  • The Value-Free Ideal of Science
  • What makes Science objective?
  • What Values should influence Science?
  • When should we suspend trust in science or deny it?
  • What makes something “anti-science”?
  • Science and Democracy: Should science be democratic? Should democracy defend science?
