The demand for a high-level numeracy skills and knowledge of statistical and computational methods is ever increasing. As organisations are having to adapt to a world that is becoming ever more data-driven, particularly in the age of ‘big data’, they look to recruit those with data skills. At the same time, statistics is a scary word to many people. A statistic is simply a number and you don't have to be a statistician to be confident working with data. Yet almost every role in every company requires an understanding of data, and many desired roles require data analysis experience. Introduction to Data Analytics provides the first step in gaining those skills.
As an introductory course, there are no pre-requisites and it is non-credit bearing. The short course is delivered at multiple points throughout the academic year, either as a :
- week long intensive model of three consecutive half days
- OR on the same half day spread over three weeks.
